Fall Feeding Tips
🐔 Chickens
Molt season — boost protein temporarily
Annual molt typically begins as daylight shortens in fall. Temporarily increase protein to 18–20%+ to support feather regrowth. Production will drop — that's normal. Expect 6–8 weeks of reduced output before hens return to full laying.
🐐 Goats
Flush does before breeding season
Goat breeding season starts October–November for most breeds. A small grain increase 2–3 weeks before the buck goes in (flushing) boosts ovulation rate and improves kidding percentages. Even 0.25–0.5 lb extra per day makes a difference.
🐄 Cattle & Goats
Body condition check before winter
This is your last chance to get cattle, goats, and hogs to ideal body condition before cold sets in. It costs more to put weight on in winter than in fall. Target goats at BCS 3–3.5, beef cows at BCS 5–5.5 entering winter.
“Great local feed store with quality Non-GMO options you can't find at the big box stores. Exactly what we needed for our flock.”
“We are so grateful to have a local farm nearby for all of our feeding needs. Since we began buying feed and minerals from BooneTop Farms & Feed, our animals have never been healthier. They are always willing to work with our schedule, share their knowledge, and support the community.”

What Our Customers Say
“Best feed store in Hickman County, hands down. The Kalmbach layer feed has my hens laying like crazy, and the yolks are the darkest orange I've ever seen. These folks know their stuff.”
Marcus T.
“The 30-20 formula has been a total game changer. His endurance in the field has improved noticeably, and he doesn't get stiff after long days anymore thanks to the glucosamine. Even his vet commented on how strong and lean he looks.”
Jennifer W.
“Drove past two other feed stores to get here because they carry Hillsboro. No fillers, no junk — just good feed. The guys are always helpful and they'll load it right in your truck.”
Dale R.
Why Non-GMO?
We chose Non-GMO because we live it. Our eggs are Non-GMO soy-free. Our goat milk is Non-GMO. Our pork is Non-GMO. When you feed your animals what they're meant to eat — real, clean ingredients — you can taste the difference. Your animals can feel the difference. And you'll see it in their health, their coats, their production.
We carry Resaca Sun Feeds, Hillsboro Feed Company, KOFFI, and Valu-Pak because these brands share our philosophy: quality ingredients, honest formulas, and animals that thrive.
